Editing novels is a step-by-step process. One of the most vital things involve communication between the editor and the author, even more so when interior design is involved. I would like to thank Cathy Sanders for her incredible patience, willingness to cooperate, and most importantly for creating a stunning look to my book! While several edited versions have been updated, Cathy has informed me that the final version will be delivered within the next few days. I will dedicate some time in reading it for the last time before forwarding it to distribution and potentially signing with Cathy's husband, Andy, for helping me find a larger publisher. To clarify, the distributor is a printing company. This enables the book to be bought on demand, whereas Andy will work for a few months to help me find a publisher. He is a literary agent! The kind of person I've spent half of last year looking for, and a mutual friend connected us! I knew Andy worked in the publishing industry, but only recently made that discovery. I've just been so overwhelmed, that never crossed my mind!
By going into distribution first, it actually makes the book more readily available for everyone who has shown their support in the past 10 years. Going through Andy not only prolongs the process, but it delays the initial book release until September 2021. Due to the uncertainty of our political and economic futures, I figured the sooner the better. Nonetheless, if a publisher does pick up my book after Andy's efforts, the book can be taken out of distribution, perhaps with minor edits (i.e.) publishing house, additional credits) and then be reprinted through that publishing house.
Prayers everyone!
